Q: What number should I call to find out when a transportation provider will be picking up a patient for his/her return trip?
A: Call Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services directly at the appropriate phone number 703-626-4123 and speak with a Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services Dispatcher.

Q: What is an Urgent Trip?
A: Urgent trips are transports that must occur without the normal three-day notice. Examples include a hospital discharge or admission, a health care follow-up appointment that cannot be delayed, or other unforeseen health care needs. Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services may require a statement of medical necessity from the health care provider for an urgent trip.

Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services is available to transport non-emergency patents needing transportation to many selected health care providers. This can be a shared-ride service, and other patents with health care appointments in the same area may ride together in the same vehicle.
If necessary, one escort or attendant may accompany a member to his/her appointment, but these arrangements must be made when the trip is scheduled.

Making Transportation Arrangements is easy!
We are available 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year. Trips should be scheduled three days in advance whenever possible.

Information Needed to Schedule Transportation:
When you call to make transportation arrangements, please have the following information ready for the Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services Customer Service Representative:

 · Your name, phone number and extension
 · Your facility’s name and address
 · The patents full name as it appears on his/her ID Card
 · The patents home address (including County)
 · The patents social security number
 · The patents Insurance ID number, county of origin and status of eligibility
 · The member’s date of birth
 · The member’s room number (for stretcher patients only)
 · An emergency contact person with phone number for the member
 · A destination contact person with phone number (at the location to which the member is being transported)
 · Type of service required: ambulatory, wheelchair or stretcher
 · Any special needs the member may have such as a mental or physical disability or the need for an escort.
Canceling or Changing Transportation Arrangements:
If transportation arrangements need to be changed or cancelled, please call Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services as soon as possible at 703-626-4123.

Important Transportation Provider Information:
Transportation providers are only responsible for transportation and for assisting members as they board and exit the vehicle. Any additional activities are the responsibility of the facility.

Transportation providers are not required to remain with the member. The Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services drivers are only required to wait for a member at designated pick-up locations for five minutes.
When calling about a pick-up from your facility, be sure to tell the Washington D.C. Mobility Medical Transport Services Customer Service Representative exactly where the member will be waiting.
The driver will wait for the member in this specific area only. Please ensure the member is ready when the driver is scheduled to arrive in order to expedite transportation.
